FBA ASINs suddenly became Unfilliable

Yesterday all stock of two of my FBA ASINs suddenly became Unfilliable. I’m struggling to understand why! I have run an Inventory adjustment reports it show ‘P’ Inventory Disposition Change – What does this mean?

Amazon is suggesting restocking the item through recommendations, I haven’t received any performance notifications.

Answer: This has happened to me before and I didn’t understand it. I ended up just removing all of them and had a shipment of new stock sent in at the same time. I still have no idea how and why it happened, seller support were useless. After a short while I realised that just removing everything and sending in a new shipment at the same time as the only way to get my listing available again ASAP. It wasted funds and the ASIN was unavailable for a few days but this did fix it. I still have no reason or explanation for it. Unless there’s a categorical reason, you may just want to be fast in removing/sending stock just to minimise damage done to BSR

1- Just opened US seller account via UK seller central, my business is registered in the UK. As a limited company so when I was filling tax information I choose “ International Organisation “ and filled up all information needed. My account is verified and activated.

I just wanted to know I sell all RA & OA do I need to pay taxes or submit any other documents in order to sell USA ?

2- which courier you guys choose to send FBM TO USA and Canada from UK ?

3- can I send FBA SHIPMENT to US AMZ warehouse from UK and let AMZ deal with customs in the US port ?

Answer: I have used Amazon’s partnered courier to send a box to the US from the U.K. it was very fast and reasonable price, (better price than any price I could find by alternative couriers)

If your products can be profitable by air Mail this is a good option.

For sea freight they will not act as a clearing agent and do the customs stuff for you.

Regarding taxes I think that technically you need to register for sales tax in every state but realistically people don’t. Amazon collect the tax anyway

Seller account was de-activated

My Seller account was de-activated because I’d selected the incorrect Identity/business type (Individual) – the options to re-submit info are greyed out and contacting seller support results in auto-responses stating ‘this isn’t the correct channel to appeal…’. As I have no way of contacting support to allow me to re-submit information, I’m thinking of terminating the account and setting up a new seller account – does anyone have experience with this? Will Amazon allow me to do that?

Don’t do it, the new account will be deactivated until the problem with the first account is sorted, so it’s pointless setting up a new account.

We’ve finally just got our final VAT refund. Just over £5k total refunded. If you guys haven’t claimed back your 20% VAT fees I would recommend you do it sooner rather than later!

VAT exempt

I was made VAT exempt last month after creating a case Regarding VAT refund on fees that should have not been charged. I was told by Amazon that I will get the VAT refund once my Feburary 2023 invoices have been generated and I was told to contact them once they were generated.

They were generated yesterday and I messaged Amazon on the same case telling them they have been generated and to process the refund. They replied with a standard template email saying I need to wait for Feburary 2023 invoices to be generated which makes no sense as they already have been

What do I do now as looks like they are trying to delay for no reason

Answer: Wait 15 more days. Same happened with me and after 15 days, I opened the case

How to make money selling on amazon with barcodes

There are several ways to make money selling on Amazon with barcodes:

  1. Private labeling: This involves finding a product that you can purchase in bulk, branding it with your own logo and packaging, and then selling it on Amazon. You can create a unique barcode for your product to track its sales and inventory.
  2. Wholesale: You can purchase products from a wholesaler and resell them on Amazon. Make sure to properly scan and list the barcodes for each product you sell.
  3. Retail arbitrage: This involves finding products at a discounted price in stores or online and reselling them on Amazon for a higher price. You can use the barcodes on the products to easily list them on Amazon.
  4. Dropshipping: You can partner with a manufacturer or supplier and list their products on Amazon. When a customer orders, you can have the supplier ship the product directly to the customer. You can use the manufacturer’s barcode or create your own to track inventory and sales.
  5. Online arbitrage: This involves finding products online that are being sold for a lower price than what they are listed for on Amazon. You can then purchase the product and re-list it on Amazon for a profit. Make sure to properly scan and list the barcodes for each product you sell.

Amazon-specific barcode called an Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN)

An ASIN is a unique, 10-digit alphanumeric code assigned to each product listed on Amazon. It is used to identify and track products within Amazon’s inventory and is a required field when listing a product on the platform. ASINs are specific to Amazon and are not interchangeable with other types of barcodes, such as UPC codes or EAN codes. They are used to help Amazon’s algorithms accurately match customer search queries to relevant products, as well as to facilitate the ordering and fulfillment process for both Amazon and third-party sellers.

Barcodes in amazon for listings

In Amazon, barcodes are used to identify products and make it easier for customers to find and purchase them. If you are a seller on Amazon, you can include a barcode on your product listing by including the barcode number in the “Standard Product ID” field when you create your listing. This field is located under the “Product Identifiers” section in the “Add a Product” page in your seller account.

It is important to note that the barcode must be a valid, standard product identifier such as a UPC or EAN code. You can obtain a barcode by purchasing one from a barcode issuing agency or by obtaining a license to use one of the barcode prefixes reserved for private use.

Two years successful selling on FBA.

Approximately 50 SKUs, all added using Speedy Bar Codes (I know… I know…)

Recently approached by a big box retailer who would like to sell most of my product line in their stores.

Retailer requires products have bar codes

Question: Can I buy bar codes and then change the existing UPCs on my Amazon listings to new amazon-upc-ean.com bar codes?

If not, is there an alternative that allows me to keep my existing AMZ listings with reviews, ranking, etc?

I don’t feel comfortable asking Amazon about any of this as I do not want to draw any attention to my use of barcodes.

Add a second listing on AMZ with all the same data and photos as the original. Except use GS1 barcode as the identifier. After it’s live, ask catalog team to merge the 2 listings. Then no matter which code is used on Amazon it will show under the same listing.

Amazon is not allowing barcodes from sites like speedybarcodes

I was trying to list a new product and keep getting error then I went online to talk to some other people and they told me amazon is not allowing barcodes from sites like speedybarcodes. only the GS1 barcode will work… is that true? I just listed something else with speedybarcodes like a month ago.

My issue with Amazon on speedy barcodes. Amazon accept the barcode on my private label item, After 1 year selling , amazon decides that the barcode is no longer accepted and I must use their barcode. After calling (waste of time) I had to recall all my inventory and figure out how to relabel 15,000 items with a new barcode printed 6×8 on 2 sides of the box. Without spending more money to purchase new boxes with logo and name, then repack everything. Now 2 years later, they tell me to switch to MFG barcode . I just really do not understand all the hoops you have to jump through, almost daily now. (just look at the cpc issues, and the several hundred new terms that are now trademark that I have to pull like range rover hot wheels or better home and garden is now being blocked)
